Every once in a while, an industry trend arrives not as a disruption, but as a confirmation — a quiet yet powerful validation of the choices, convictions, and long-term investments made years before. This May, as I look through the stories gathered in this issue of BGG Life, I feel that sense of confirmation with particular clarity.

Microalgae — the foundation upon which much of BGG's scientific heritage has been built — is no longer a niche conversation. At Vitafoods Europe in Barcelona this spring, the world's leading nutrition ingredient companies placed algae firmly at the center of innovation: Fermentalg introduced what may be one of the world's highest natural-concentration EPA oils; Euglena advanced its immunology platform through the acquisition of microalgae assets; even Honda — yes, the automotive company — is using algae to rethink the future of the protein supply chain. The direction of the industry has become unmistakable.

For BGG, this is not a moment to stand aside and observe. It is a moment to lead with confidence, discipline, and generosity of vision. Our AstaZine® has recently secured a landmark patent in Japan for its VDT vision health claim, demonstrating once again that clinical rigor, patient investment, and thoughtful patent strategy can create enduring competitive advantage. At Vitafoods, our team presented ApplePhenon®, TheraPrimE®, and AstaZine® as a compelling "Dream Team," telling a coherent clinical story around metabolic resilience, cognitive health, and the broader future of healthy aging.

Yet leadership in today's global market requires more than strong science alone. It requires the ability to translate science into trust, trust into value, and value into sustainable commercial relationships. This is why the establishment of BGG's Global Marketing Department marks an important milestone for the Group.

The creation of this department is not simply an organizational adjustment. It represents a new commitment to raising the quality of commerce across BGG Group. By building a stronger global marketing function, we are creating a shared platform for market insight, brand strategy, product storytelling, customer education, sales enablement, and cross-regional coordination. We are strengthening the bridge between research and market, between innovation and application, and between BGG's scientific capabilities and the real needs of customers around the world.

My hope is that the Global Marketing Department will help BGG move beyond fragmented commercial activities toward a higher standard of global commercial excellence. This means clearer positioning, more disciplined messaging, more consistent customer experience, faster response to market opportunities, and a stronger ability to convert our scientific assets into meaningful business growth. More importantly, it will help us build a more professional, more collaborative, and more future-oriented commercial culture within BGG Group.

This issue also touches on a subject closer to home. I drafted an article for our team's reflection — a structural analysis of single-decision-maker governance. For any founder-led organization, this is not necessarily comfortable reading. But it is necessary reading. As BGG continues to grow, as our markets multiply and our supply chains extend, the way we make decisions becomes not merely a matter of culture, but a strategic variable that will directly influence our long-term competitiveness.

BGG Life exists to ensure that everyone across our global organization is looking toward the same horizon. I hope this issue offers not only information, but also perspective — on where the science is moving, where the markets are heading, and how BGG can continue to elevate the quality of its commerce, its governance, and its global leadership.

As we enter this next stage, I believe the establishment of the Global Marketing Department will bring renewed energy, clearer direction, and higher standards to BGG Group.
